The Higher Education Agency of the Republic of Srpska organized two consultative online meetings with the aim of presenting the planned changes in the accreditation process of institutions and study programs. On Thursday, April 10, 2025, a meeting was held with representatives of accredited higher education institutions in the Republic of Srpska, while on Friday, April 11, 2025, a meeting was held with accreditation experts. The meetings were held via videoconference platform and were attended by representatives of several public and private universities and colleges, as well as experts who participated in the work of the Expert Commissions in the accreditation procedures.
The new regulations, expected to be drafted in the coming months, aim to simplify existing accreditation procedures.During the meetings, key innovations in accreditation documentation and procedures were discussed. Specifically, the abolition of the application form and the introduction of a self-evaluation report form were discussed, as well as the abolition of the checklist and the introduction of a preliminary report. The purpose of the proposed amendments is to simplify and improve existing procedures, in line with best practices in the field of quality assurance in higher education. Representatives of higher education institutions and experts unanimously supported the proposed amendments, emphasizing that this will facilitate the self-evaluation process of institutions and study programs, and in particular, the application for accreditation and the production of accreditation reports of the highest quality.The Agency invites representatives of the academic community, especially those with experience in the field of quality assurance, to actively engage in the process of creating the new Rulebook and to contribute with their suggestions and comments to the further development and improvement of the external evaluation system in the Republic of Srpska.
