In Banja Luka, from December 2nd to December 3rd, 2024, within the SMEQA project – Strengthening Capacities and Mechanisms for Enhancement of the Quality Assurance System in Higher Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a conference was held at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Banja Luka on the key principles and elements of the model for external evaluation in institutional and program accreditation. In addition to representatives from the Higher Education Agency of the Republic of Srpska and other project partners, the conference in Banja Luka was attended by the Director of the Hungarian Accreditation Committee (MAB) and a member of the Executive Board of the European Association for Quality Assurance (ENQA), Peter Levante Lakatos, who presented ways to apply ESG in different contexts and new trends in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), as well as the Director of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR), Aleksandar Susnjar, who spoke about the role of EQAR in the European Higher Education Area.
During the conference in Banja Luka, the document "Report on the Analysis of Quality Assurance in Bosnia and Herzegovina" was also presented. Based on the discussions and feedback from all interested parties, conclusions in this field were defined, which will be further harmonized after the conference."Strengthening Capacities and Mechanisms for Enhancement of the Quality Assurance System in Higher Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina" (SMEQA-ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE-STRAND-3) is a project funded by the European Commission, planned to last for three years (2024–2026), and coordinated by the University of Zenica.
