On May 29, 2024, a meeting of all relevant institutions was held in the administrative center of the Government of the Republic of Srpska on the topic "Introduction of the concept, importance and goal of the development of the Qualification Framework of the Republic of Srpska."
The Minister for Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education, Željko Budimir, emphasized that as far as the competence of the Republic of Srpska for education is concerned, the development of the Qualification Framework of the Republic of Srpska is one of the most important tasks that will be carried out in the coming period.
Director of the Agency, prof. Biljana Vojvodić, PhD, gave a presentation on the topic of the connection between the qualification framework and quality assurance in higher education. Prof. Vojvodić stressed that through quality assurance, it is checked whether learning outcomes and competences acquired through education correspond to the levels and descriptors of the qualification framework, which ensures the reliability and credibility of the qualification system. She also spoke about qualification standards and occupational standards and their importance both for the design of study programs and for the labor market.
The next step is the creation of a working group for drafting the law on the qualification framework of the Republic of Srpska, which will define further steps such as the formation of sectoral councils that will be in charge of drafting qualification standards and occupational standards.
