The Hungarian Accreditation Committee organized a webinar with Colin Tück, Director of EQAR (The European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education), as keynote speaker. The webinar was held on February 16, 2022. It was attended by representatives of quality assurance agencies from all over Europe, as well as representatives of higher education institutions. A representative of the Agency for Higher Education of Republic of Srpska also participated in the webinar. The main topic of the webinar was the presentation of the DEQAR system, ie the The Database of Quality Assurance Results. https://www.eqar.eu/about/projects/deqar-project/about-deqar
Participants were informed that the DEQAR database provides access to all reports and decisions on higher education institutions and programmes that have been externally reviewed in accordance with standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area by quality assurance agencies registered in EQAR. The database will be useful to many users, primarily ENIC/NARIC centers, higher education institutions, students and student organizations, quality assurance agencies, representatives of ministries and other national authorities.
The European Strategy for Universities, presented by the European Commission in January this year, was also discussed at the webinar and the DEQAR was mentioned as one of the important tools in that strategy. https://education.ec.europa.eu/document/commission-communication-on-a-european-strategy-for-universities There was also talk of joint study programmes, which are often faced with contradictory national requirements, and of the need to have a clear set of European rules that would apply to joint study programmes.
The next webinar is scheduled for March 9, also organized by the Hungarian Accreditation Committee .
